General Conditions

These Conditions of Carriage apply to all flights operated by Fly Burundi and govern the relationship between you and us. By making a reservation or accepting transportation on our flights, you agree to be bound by these conditions.

These Conditions of Carriage are subject to applicable laws, regulations, rules, and requirements. In the event of inconsistency between these Conditions and any applicable law, regulation, rule, or requirement, such law, regulation, rule, or requirement shall prevail.

We may change these Conditions of Carriage at any time without prior notice. The Conditions of Carriage in effect at the time of your ticket purchase will apply to your journey.

Reservations & Ticketing

A reservation is confirmed only when recorded as accepted and confirmed by us or our authorized agents and a Ticket has been issued. An e-ticket confirmation serves as your ticket and must be presented at check-in along with valid identification.

Passenger Information

You must provide accurate personal information during booking. The name on your ticket must match exactly with your travel document (passport or national ID). Discrepancies may result in denied boarding.

Ticket Validity

Unless otherwise stated on the Ticket or in these Conditions, a Ticket is valid for:

  • One year from the date of issue; or
  • One year from the date of first travel, provided such travel occurs within one year from the date of issue.

Fares & Payment

Fare Rules

Fares apply only for carriage from the airport at the point of origin to the airport at the destination. Fares do not include ground transport services between airports and between airports and city terminals.

Applicable fares are those published by us or our authorized agents. The fare for your journey will be calculated in accordance with our tariff in effect on the date of payment for your ticket.

Taxes, Fees, and Charges

You are responsible for all applicable taxes, fees, and charges imposed by governments, other authorities, or by operators of airports. These will be payable by you in addition to the fare.

Currency

Fares and charges are payable in the currency of the country in which the ticket is issued, unless another currency is indicated by us or our authorized agents at or before the time payment is made.

Changes & Cancellations

Flight Changes by Passenger

If you wish to change any aspect of your transportation, you must contact us in advance. Fare conditions may restrict or prohibit changes, and fees may apply based on your fare type.

Changes are subject to seat availability in the fare class for which you originally paid. If the new fare is higher, you must pay the difference. If the new fare is lower, a refund may be provided subject to fare conditions.

Flight Changes by Fly Burundi

We will make reasonable efforts to transport you and your baggage according to our published schedules. However, times shown in timetables or elsewhere are not guaranteed and do not form part of the contract of carriage.

In case of flight cancellation or significant schedule change, we will:

  • Carry you on another of our scheduled flights on which space is available;
  • Reroute you to your destination using our own services or services of another carrier; or
  • Provide a refund in accordance with our refund policy.

Refunds

Voluntary Refunds

If you choose not to travel, you may be entitled to a refund of your unused ticket or portions thereof, subject to the fare conditions of your ticket and the following:

  • Some tickets are sold at discounted fares which may be partially or completely non-refundable.
  • Refund fees may apply based on your fare type and when the refund is requested.
  • Refunds will be processed in the original form of payment.

Involuntary Refunds

If we cancel a flight, fail to operate a flight reasonably according to schedule, fail to stop at your destination or stopover, or cause you to miss a connecting flight on which you hold a confirmed reservation, the amount of the refund shall be:

  • If no portion of the ticket has been used, an amount equal to the fare paid;
  • If a portion of the ticket has been used, not less than the difference between the fare paid and the applicable fare for travel between the points for which the ticket has been used.
